The story of Orpheus and Eurydice is somewhat tragic. Due to circumstances, the mood of this story is a melancholy one. The author set the tone of the story through a gloomy and resigned Orpheus after he lost Eurydice the second time around. The technique used here is a Narrative. The author carefully described the different circumstances that happened when Orpheus lost Eurydice, when he tried to get her back, and how he lost her again. Greek mythology is written for all sorts and purposes but mostly to inform people on the trickiness of interacting with the gods. The purpose of this story is to inform how rejecting a god's advances will turn out. This is sort of a warning for people to tread carefully in transacting with the gods.
