    An anticlimax resolution for a story is a poor or too simple resolution for a story that otherwise would be pretty exciting and you'd expect it to end ina very awesome way, an example of an anticlimax resolution that didn't paid off was the resolution in Batman vs Superman where the whole conflict was solved when superman says Martha, as is his mother's name and it turns out that was Batman's Mother's name as well. So it could leave the audience unsatisfied, that's could be damaging the story.
