What is a major conflict in the story the perks of being a wallflower

I absolutely loved this book!

I feel as if the conflict is that Charlie upset that his friends are leaving for college. At first, the conflict was that Charlie was having trouble with making friends, etc. but, the overall conflict is that after making friends, that overall made his life better, is leaving for college.
