The printing press greatly influenced both the Scientific Enlightenment and the Renaissance. Before 1440 it was impossible to produce large amounts of written works. With the use of the printing press, written works could be printed and distributed rapidly. Both the Scientific enlightenment as well as the Renaissance were able to spread and grow as movements due to the use of the printing press to produce mass amounts of information to the people.
