In the short story, The Tall Woman and Her Short Husband, what do you think the author is trying to say about being "normal"? Who do you think is the villain in the story and why?

    I think what the author is trying to say about being normal is that it's not really all that everyone craves to be normal because they think that it is a good thing. Personally I believe he thinks 'normal' is bad and shouldn't be something to desire. 'Normal' means being like everyone else. Who wants to be basic and just like everyone around you. Everyone is different in their own unique ways and you should express that in any way you can. Unfortunately, since people think everyone should be normal as in wearing and acting like everyone else, it makes it hard for people to come out of their shells and do what they really want to do and not what they are pressured into because it is the 'normal' thing to do. I think the villain in this story would be the community because there are so judgmental they make all these accusations of the couple that ain't even true.
