Brody stood behind the curtain, waiting for Ms. McNeil's signal. Although he'd practiced his lines many times, Brody still felt nervous about being in a musical. The auditorium was filled with people, including his friends and family members. What if he forgot his lines in front of everyone? Brody didn't want to embarrass himself! Finally, Ms. McNeil gave Brody the signal. He took a deep breath and walked onto the stage. To calm his nerves, Brody imagined that this was just another day at practice. He pretended that all of the auditorium seats were empty and delivered his first line. There was a slight pause before the audience started laughing and clapping. Brody let out a relieved sigh.
