The article exposes the reason for so many children leaving Honduras. Their rights are not guaranteed there when facing every single day a multitude of challenges because of drug wars: murder, sexual violence, not being able to study, harassment to enter the drug dealing machinery, and daily threats to their lives and their family's lives. What they need the most is safety.

This is why "By sending these children away 'you are handing them a death sentence' says J. A Uchoa", is the most adequate sentence supporting the article's claim that children are leaving for safety and summarizes the reason why they refugee should be reevaluated as a special case.
