The answer is:

-Women's thoughts are not considered to be as important as men's.

-It is normal for men to make generalizations about all women.

-Women take care of details that are less important than those that concern men.

The setting of the truffles took place in the year of 1900. (this happen before women even granted the right to vote in the election)

At that time, women basically treated like second class citizens, similar to a property that belong to the men of the household. They were never taken seriously in professional field, only focus on their appearance, and would constantly judged with a certain level of prejudice that prevent them to advance in society.
