The answer to the question: According to Suzuki, people in northern countries do not share because, would be: D: They are afraid to lose what they have.

    Explanation:

This answer comes, and can be explained, from the information that the passage itself gives. At the very end of it, in "The Girl Who Silenced the World for Five Minutes", a speech that was delivered by Severn Cullis-Suzuki to the representatives at the UN Conference on Environment and Development, in 1992, Suzuki says herself: "Even when we have more than enough, we are afraid to lose some of our wealth, afraid to share." This sentence given by her, is in itself, the answer to the question, and the reason why D is the correct choice.
