    ok

    Explanation:

Reagan used that real sad moment of the nation to touch their feelings deely in order to get the population's support for the space running and researches for developing their technology.

"I've always had great faith in and respect for our space program. And what happened today does nothing to diminish it. We don't hide our space program. We don't keep secrets and cover things up. We do it all up front and in public. That's the way freedom is, and we wouldn't change it for a minute."

He also related to another accident that happened 19 years ago, from that moment back.

"Nineteen years ago, almost to the day, we lost three astronauts in a terrible accident on the ground. But, we've never lost an astronaut in flight; we've never had a tragedy like this."

That's what made his speech so effective, he made refernce to their victory and superiority, appealing to their sense of nationality.

In an attempt to encourage american citizens to continue to support space exploration he states ''The future does not belong to the fainthearted; it belongs to the brave'' therefore seeking to evoke the feelings of patriotism and heroism in order to perpetuate the idea that the purpose of the american citizen is to serve their country despite the danger this programs represent for their lives.

He also stated that as space exploration pioneers 'no one can expext everything to go perfectly every time' to excuse the poorly executed program.

The pattern Reagan decided to follow was to make the american citizen believe that the lives that were and would be lost in the future contribuited to the greatness of USA.
