Why do people consider katniss a hero? what has she done so far in the novel that has been heroic?

    One major thing Katniss did in The Hunger Games was volunteer as tribute to save her younger sister. She sacrificed herself for her and that's pretty heroic. She's very giving and looks after others throughout the story when she shouldn't be.
