    Chapter 2: scout is excited to start her first day of school but it does not go the way she hopes scouts teacher Mrs. Caroline fisher makes scout feel guilty for knowing already how to read and write and shouldn't be reading at home with Atticus. Things get worse when miss Caroline fisher offers Walter Cunningham money and scout explains that the Cunningham's never take stuff they can't pay back and scout gets punished for it.

    Chapter 3: scout takes out her frustration out on (fights) Walter Cunningham for the event that happened in the classroom. Jem stops her and invites Walter to lunch. And scout humiliates Walter for pouring to much syrup on his food and calpurnia scolds scout for her actions. The Euls only attend school on the first day to avoid trouble with truancy officers, when miss Caroline ask Burris to sit down he shouts vial words at her that makes her cry. Atticus makes a deal with scout that if she continues going to school he'll keep reading with her at night.
