According to the text, how does race play a role in the specific good-deed examples cited by the author?

    According to the text, the race plays very important role when it comes to good-deeds. As the characters in the examples were African American, people had lower expectations towards them because of their skin color, and because of that people felt the need to put the good-doers on the pedestal, which is unfair, as we should not have lower expectations towards people who does not share the same religion, race, origin or sexuality with us.
