Mark Twain's children adventure novel "The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn" tells the adventures of a young boy named Huck Finn. He was looking for adventure and freedom, which he thinks he got when he set out on his own along with a black slave Jim, and then accumulating friend / companions on the way.

The duke and the king are two impostors who had been cheating unwitting people out of their things and money. Their attitude towards the people can be best seen in the lines from Chapter 26 where they were in a town and fooling the townspeople into buying their wares. They were selling and robbing the orphans from their only possession, including the house. This shows how they (the king and duke) were unsympathetic towards even the orphans, thinking only for their own profit.
