The stamen that best describes the effect of Theseus's first failure to move the stone is option A "It taught him to be patient". According to the legend, Theseus was a hero of Athens and had mystical powers. When Theseus was 15 years old, he was taken by her mother to the mountain and she asked her to lift a stone and bring her what was underneath. But he couldn't do it, so her mother told her they would try next year and so they tried for several years but he couldn't lift the stone. So before turning 18, he trained to become strong and finally was able to lift the stone. Theseus, according to the legend, became the bravest man on earth.

This story shows that Theseus never gave up his idea of lifting the stone. He didn't want revenge on anybody and he did not lose respect of his absent father since he didn't know his father was related to the stone. Therefore, option A is the correct one as he went year by year to lift the stone until he finally did it.
