    Colonies justify their independence based in the principal of autonomy, sovereignty and self-determination which gives them the right as organized territories to rule themselves and not to owe their allegiance to a foreign power. Some of the reasons why countries seek their freedom from colonizing powers is because the inequality of treatment between the colonies and the central power, social disadvantages for people who are from the colonies to access education, land ownership, political participation, social mobility, etc.
