Select the correct text in the passage. Which line in the poem shows the speaker changing his mind? Fire and Ice by Robert Frost Some say the world will end in fire, Some say in ice. From what I've tasted of desire I hold with those who favor fire. But if it had to perish twice, I think I know enough of hate To say that for destruction ice Is also great And would suffice.

But if it had to perish twice,

Here the conjunction "But" is a word that introduces a change. We know that he stated one thing, and now he might possibly be switching because of "but". If the speaker was going to stick with the initial decision and just add on to it, the correct conjunction would be and. If the speaker was still trying to decide one way or the other, the speaker would use the conjunction "or". "But" shows the speaker changing his mind.
