Evaluating Mr. Sawicki's Testimony What conclusion can be made based on Mr. Sawicki's testimony? Mr. Sawicki believes Steve is guilty of the crime he is charged with. Steve has an uneasy relationship with his film club director. Steve has a filmmaking talent and his teacher appreciates his honesty. Mr. Sawicki is not being truthful about Steve at all.

    This book is called "The Monster", written by Walter Dean Myers. This story is about a young man who was on trial for allegedly taking part in a robbery of a drugstore. The protagonist, Steve Harmon, is being accused of standing on the look-out for the two other robbers. Steve wants to become a filmmaker and is in the film club at high school, where Mr. Sawicki is the teacher. Mr Sawicki is very fond of Steve and testifies in his favor.
