The correct answer is option four. In "Harrison Bergeron", the word "equality" refers to the fact that all Americans are identical to one another - nobody is allowed to stand out because of their intelligence, beauty, strength and speed. The government uses devices in order to block people's advantages, so that everybody has equal average characteristics.
