The unnamed narrator receives a letter from his friend Roderick Usher saying that he is ill not only physically but also emotionally, so the narrator decides to go to his home an stay with him. While the narrator approaches the house of Usher, he realizes that it is a decaying house, with a mysterious atmosphere surrounding it. Besides, the narrator perceives that the house has absorbed an evil. But he decides to assist his friend no matter what happens with this gloomy situation.
