A student wrote the following letter to his school board to persuade the members not to cut funding for his

Publicity from attending state meets is good for our school and motivates alumni " (to donate) " to the booster club. In addition, the swim team provides " (much-needed) " exercise to an increasingly inactive student body. Without the swim team, we would all be stuck at home playing video games!
