Chromatography is a chemical process through which scientist can separate mixed elements to analyze them individually.

It basically consists in dissolving the mixture in a liquid that separates the different elements as a purification process.

Forensic Scientists use it in different forms while processing samples, for example:

    * Planar Chromatography that can identify if two samples are the same.

    * HPLC that can detect explosive components and some specific drugs.

    * Gas Chromatography can detect the presence of alcohol, drugs or poison in a body prior to its death.
