Answer: Since Odysseus is such a handsome, young, strong man, many people show him hospitality no matter that person's background. Throughout his journey, or "odyssey", numerous acts of kindness are the only way he makes it back to his wife after the long war. These hospitable acts give him hope on his hard journey while also supplying him the basic needs of life and many rich pleasures that he will take advantage of later

The true exemplars of good hospitality in The Odyssey are the Phaeacians who host Odysseus when he washes ashore near their town ... After Odysseus reveals his identity and tells his story, the Phaeacians convey him to Ithaca and leave him on the shore with numerous precious gifts, the ultimate hospitable act.
