"A Matter of Prejudice" by Kate Chopin is a short story in which Madame Carambeau is the main character. She is a French speaking African immigrant who is full of prejudices such as the hate for white servants and children's noises. She detests animals such as cats and dogs, and she also has prejudices against Americans, Germans and people of different religions from her own. Furthermore, she does not speak to her son because he is gay.
