The first and foremost step of Lady Macbeth's plan to kill King Duncan was to be a good host to Duncan and hide their evil emotions before him. Then she planned to get the guards drunk so that they can become unconscious and do not be a witness of this act. She later advised her husband to take his dagger and kill the sleeping Dunken. After the murder would be committed, she asked Macbeth to sprinkle the blood of the king on the daggers of the guards and on their attires too. in this way the guards would be blamed for the murder. The next step of the plan would be returning to their room and wash their hands and go to bed. On the next day when people would discover the King to be dead, they too would pretend shocked and in grief for the uncertain death of the King.
