Central conflict is the main conflict or struggle in the story. The narrator has this conflict with another close or main character or has the same conflict with all characters. For example, if the narrator hates being in social situations and finds himself in them over and over again, he is in conflict with everyone he comes into contact with. Another is example would be in like in The Lion King: Simba (as the narrator) has a conflict with Scar. In both cases, these are opposing forces. So the narrator is struggling with an opposing force in the central conflict.
