President Theodore Roosevelt was a true promoter of conservationism. During his tenure as a president, one of his priorities was conservation. He believed, as the forebearers, that conservationism was of the utmost importance.

By that time, species of animals were threatened as well as plants and trees. Roosevelt wanted to preserve the U. S. natural resources, protect animals and land. He referred to the forebearers when expressed that the public has more right to natural resources than private companies who wanted to do business with the land.

Roosevelt created national parks, national bird reservations, and the National Forest Service.

Roosevelt once said:

"It is almost impossible for us in this day to realize how little our Revolutionary ancestors knew of the great store of natural resources whose discovery and use have been such vital factors in the growth and greatness of this Nation, and how little they required to take from this store in order to satisfy their needs."
