This book is divided into six parts. Each has information about one of the six types of machines: the wheel and axle (it changed civilization!); the inclined plane (those ramps!); the wedge; the lever; the pulley; and the screw (yes, it's a simple machine). Each part includes some simple examples along with some of the complex structures that I have designed using one or more of these simple machines.

Which pattern did the author use to organize the book?

The correct answer is C. Classification

    Explanation:

In the classification pattern, authors organize the contents of a book or text by using different categories. This often involves including main categories and sub-categories. For example, in a book about animals, the author can organize the contents by mammals, reptiles, insects, birds, etc. This pattern is used in the book about machines because the author organizes the chapters or sections in the book by types of machines, also, in each type of machine the author includes subcategories (examples, complex structures), which are common characteristics in this pattern.
