It is definitely not because you are put into a closed off group which will not allow you to hear others prospective

While it is easier to be certain ig you only talk to people who agree with you, you will not necessarily get honest answers. To truly be certain you need to hear all sides of an argument so that you have as much information as possible to make an informed decision.
