Nick remembers a lot about Gatsby's death, such as having to leave for work.

    Explanation:

On the day of Gatsby's passing, Nick hangs out with Gatsby in Gatsby's backyard. Gatsby decided he wants to swim before his butler closes the pool for the season. Gatsby has not used the pool once all summer. While Gatsby and Nick are hanging out together, Nick realizes he must leave for work. Gatsby wants him to stay. Nick decides he will stay for a little while longer, missing the first train to work. He stays longer, then leaves for the second train, on time. While he is walking out, Nick shouts at Gatsby the following. "They're a rotten crowd. You're worth the whole d**n bunch put together." This is the only compliment Nick ever gave Gatsby. Little did he know those words were also his last towards Gatsby.
