Why would someone most likely fly a glider?

The Glider

A glider is like a small airplane. Its wings are very slender, and

Its body is streamlined. This means it is shaped to move, or

glide, easily through the air. It has either a very small motor or

none at all. If It has no power source, It has to be launched. The

glider is launched by an elastic cord, a rope, or a cable, which is

pulled by a crew on the ground or a tow car or plane. The glider

gains altitude by riding updrafts in the air.

A. to gain credit toward a pilot's license
