What is the moral of "The Secret Life of Bees"

I think it is in the first chapter of the book. It is about how lily describes her mother beginning with what will be a theme throughout the book. Lily feels guilty for killing her mother, then at night she dreams of dying, meeting her mother in heaven, and asking her for forgiveness.
