We begin our studies of the media with the Renaissance Period. Why? because Gutenberg's printing press laid the foundation for mass media communications because printing became easier and less time-consuming, leading in part to the birth of the newspaper, one of the first forms of mass media because the printing press led to a newfound interest in knowledge and this led to the creation of mass media, such as newspapers all of the above
