What tone does this passage convey? Eugene was upset that his team was not playing better. "If they play like this in the first quarter, then they are definitely going to lose! It's over before it's even started."

    Pessimistic.

    Why? Because he does not have much hope for his team as they not playing better so he have a pessimistic view that they would likely lose the match before it is even started.
