What does he mean by"I sometimes think I got more from pursuing that dream and not accomplishing it than I did from many of the ones I did accomplish"

He is saying that he learned more from working really hard and not getting the anticipated end result, then he did when he worked really hard and got the desired result. Essentially, he is saying that he learned way more from his failure/s than he did from his success/s.
