    Irony

    Foreshadowing

    Use of an anti - hero as the protagonist

    One common idea that authors use is the benefit of one party over another. Some other common elements would be Betrayal and Greed/Corruption. Some good dystopian fiction books are The Hunger Games Series, The Divergent Series and The Legend Series.
