    One theme in the Hobbit is that best traits are revealed in times of trouble. Like when Bilbo saved the dwarves from the huge spiders. He showed bravery. Another theme is even the smallest creature can make a big difference in the world. Like without Bilbo the dwarves would have possibly died without him.
