An independent clause is a clause that can be a sentence on its own. Basically it expresses a complete thought. An independent clause has both a subject and a predicate.

    EX:

We can hardly wait to see the movie.

"My one regret in life is that I am not someone else." - Woody Allen

    hurricanes strengthen over warm waters.

**Don't forget to use a comma before a conjunction that joins two independent clauses.
