This lesson wants to say that he is a trustworthy narrator because he uses sensory details and adds little things such as taste and smell into his writing as this lesson is based on Uncle Toms Cabin which is a recollection of his childhood. Section 1 of this lesson, the bottom paragraph explains it in like 4 sentences - josiedamon1
