    The answer is A. he had witnessed during his World War II service. During this war, Jarell had left university in order to serve as a flying cadet, then a tower operator. He was known as the most poetic cadet in the Air Force. After he was discharged, he continued to write poems and he then started working in Sarah Lawrence College and a book reviewer for the magazine called The Nation
