How is the MLA author-page citation used?

According to this method, author's last name and the quoted page number must appear in the text. It is also important to add the same reference on Works Cited page. The author's name has to be either in the sentence or in parentheses corresponding to the quotation. It is very important to add the page number in the parentheses.
