    Certainly Pony struggles with Darry. Darry is trying to be a father-figure to pony and Pony resists. He feels Darry bosses him around and treats him like a child. Really, Darry is just trying to keep the family together. Soda is happy go lucky. Pony and Soda have a friendly brotherly relationship.

    Soda pop does not have a hard time showing ponyboy that he loves and cares for them and Darry does he just wants to be all tough in front of his siblings so they have someone to look up to
