    In 1896, the French scientist Henri Becquerel discovered c) radioactive decay. Becquerel, along with Pierre and Marie Curie, discovered radioactivity and received the 1903 Nobel Prize in Physics for it. The quantity of radioactivity is known as the Bq, after his surname.
