In the following passage, which character is the antagonist? Jeff put his backpack on and headed toward the door. "Don't forget your lunch, honey!" his mom called after him. As he grabbed his lunch, Jeff saw the bus rounding the corner. He began running after it. As he jogged around the neighborhood's tallest oak tree, a foot popped out from behind, causing Jeff to tumble hard onto the pavement.
