What is pride? what is it means? can someone explanation it?

Pride is a feeling or deep pleasure or satisfaction derived from one's own achievements, the achievements of those with whom one is closely associated, or from qualities or possessions that are widely admired. Also, to be especially proud of a particular quality or skill.

My definition of pride is like a foolish sense of one's worth, like someone who thinks they're so great, that they cause themselves to do silly things to preserve their pride.
