    Well, during this time, woman did not own property they did not have the right to vote or sue. They were viewed as the weaker sex. The stereotype for women in this era was that they were required to provide for their husband, set food on the table, and raise their children. Women's rights, were extremely limited in this era. Victorian wives were viewed just as property for their husbands. Nothing more and nothing less.
