I would say that none of the answer fits the real story. As far as i know, perseus was tasked by the king (Polydectes) to search for medusa's head in order to get rid of him (as he wasn't able to marry perseus' mother by force as long as he's there with her). He then came back in fury (as he was lied to by polydectes) and turned him into a stone. So the closes answer would B. (but still incorrect tho)
