Who is Irus in the odyssey

Irus is the nickname given to Arnaeus, a beggar living in Ithaca who ran messages for Penelope's suitors. When Odysseus returned to his homeland, he disguised as a beggar, which led to a conflict with Irus, who thought Odysseus encroached on his territory.
