What Martin Luther King intends to say in this sentence:

"In the End, we will remember not the words of our enemies, but the silence

of our friends."

    He means that in the end, the words of our enemies may hurt us, but what will hurt us more is how our friends stood through whatever was going on silently and didn't stick up for what they believed in.
