In to kill a mockingbird what do the neighboorhood think about mrs. dubose?

A old crazy old psycho comes to my mind but goes a lot more deeper then a psycho. The "Scout" Describes her as, "Jem and i hated her." If she was on the porch when we passed, we could be raked by her wrathful and hateful gaze ... " Neighbours avoid and ignore her as best as they can.

They didn't really like her, she would always yell at the kids. She was ill-tempered and racist.
